- Every 5 minutes we ask your site for its home page. Any answer within 6 seconds counts as up, including a redirect; no answer, or a server error, counts as a failure.
- After 2 failures in a row you get an email headed "is not responding", and we are alerted too. There is nothing you need to do.
- When the site answers again, a second email says it is back up and how long it was down, going by our checks.
- The Websites tab of your account shows each site's current state, its measured uptime over the last 7 and 30 days, and its last incident.
What it is not
A check, not a promise: we do not offer an uptime percentage or a service-level agreement. A single slow moment between two checks may not show, and a check from our side cannot see a problem that only affects one visitor's network.
